The Nasdaq 100 (USTEC) awaits a key catalyst for a clear trend.
US Tech 100 Index IC:USTECKrisadaYoonaisil
The Nasdaq 100 (USTEC) may lack a clear direction until a key catalyst emerges.
Fundamental Analysis
1. The Nasdaq 100 continues to face mixed drivers. Although many AI businesses are still growing strongly, markets are increasingly focused on cash flow and rising investment costs. A sustainable recovery will require both solid earnings and evidence that companies can generate real returns on their investments, which will take time to prove. As a result, the index may lack a clear driver for now.
2. The key risk is that investment spending grows faster than cash flow, which could lead markets to lower valuations even as revenue keeps growing, especially if companies need to keep borrowing or raising capital. In addition, safe-haven flows may drive a rotation out of equities into US Treasuries, adding pressure on the index.
3. The main support would come from proven revenue and cash flow. Demand signals from Nvidia (NVDA) suggest that investment in computing and data centers is continuing. If Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOGL) and Amazon (AMZN) report cloud growth while protecting margins and cash flow, confidence in both the infrastructure spenders and their equipment suppliers could recover.
Technical Analysis
4. After printing a record high at 31310, USTEC started to retreat. While holding above EMA200 indicates the long-term uptrend intact, the pullback into the converging EMA stack zone suggests a sideways consolidation phase.
5. If USTEC sustains above 28190, the index may fluctuate within the 28190-31310 range.
6. Alternatively, closing above the EMA stack may fuel a rise toward a new record high above 31310.
